It was September 27th, 2016 when Dr. Jonathan Keeble graced the Callaway Auditorium stage. It was the season opening concert that was simply and appropriately named “Air” and it featured a World Premiere Event! Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, penned by Dr. Richard Prior, debuted that night and Dr. Jonathan Keeble was the guest soloist. Dr. Keeble is a world renowned flutist, He is Professor of Flute, and Chair of the Wind Division at the University of Illinois, and is also past-President of the National Flute Association.

In this episode of Off the Podium, Dr. Keeble is again our guest, but in a much more informal setting with no travel involved. Off the Podium is a series of podcasts that feature casual conversations between Maestro Richard Prior and one guest. These have helped turn on a small light for us, to see into the lives of some of our LSO family. This is an opportune time to do this type of content since it is all done electronically. Radio Show Airs until Christmas 2020

The Joy of the Orchestra with the LaGrange Symphony’s Richard Prior is an hour-long radio show that airs every Tuesday Night at 7:30 PM on WELR (Eagle 102.3 FM). This show features an exciting array of orchestral music brought to life with commentary by our Maestro. He will give insights into the selections which include historical background, musical nuances and other elements for which to listen.
