On election night, November 3rd, 2020, we bring you “a little election-night music”. MOZART will be the center of attention during the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra’s radio show, The Joy of the Orchestra with the LaGrange Symphony’s Richard Prior. During the rest of the day, attention will be on other leaders, but from 7:30 to 8:30 PM on WELR (Eagle 102.3 FM) Mozart will be the man of the hour! He was such a significant mover and shaker, that over 200 years later, we still refer to him with just his last name with no question as to whom we are talking about.
In evaluating the March 19th 2019 concert, it seemed appropriate to choose this night to take a look back and honor this great musical leader. Tuesday’s radio concert will serenade you with Mozart’s wonderful Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Overture to the Marriage of Figaro, and end with Symphony No. 25 in G minor. All pieces were recorded live at the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra’s March 2019 concert in LaGrange, Georgia, Richard Prior conducting. So, are you curious about Mozart’s full name? He was baptized Johannes Chrystostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart and he lived from 1756–1791. His lifespan was rather short, but his impact was truly monumental!
