All American Episode

All American

We are focusing on two great American composers this week within our hour-long radio show, The Joy of the Orchestra with the LaGrange Symphony’s Richard Prior.  Tuesday, December 8th at 7:30 PM on WELR (Eagle 102.3 FM) brings a broadcast that will feature some of the best-loved works to perform, as well as to hear!  It’s All-American week and the composers featured are Aaron Copeland and Leonard Bernstein.  The LaGrange Symphony has performed these much-loved works in recent years, to rave reviews. However, this  episode will give you a different perspective and feature performances from The Atlanta Symphony, The London Symphony Orchestra, and The Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.  Tune-in at 7:30 PM December 8th, to hear this splendid episode featuring two of the many wonderful American composers.

If you would like to reflect on the LSO performances of this music, here are links to those reviews: Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, Sept 25, 2018, Copeland’s Appalachian Spring, April 25, 2017, and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, November 1, 2016.

There are only two episodes left in this series and this calendar year of 2020!  December 8th’s American week, and then a Special Christmas Finale on December 15th.
