The Sounds of Dance concert was presented on October 29, 2019. The LaGrange Symphony’s current radio show, The Joy of the Orchestra with the LaGrange Symphony’s Richard Prior, will revisit that concert Tuesday night, October 27, 2020 at 7:30 PM. The 2019 concert had numerous soloists and was definitely a concert with high expectations. This concert may have opened in a quiet and meandering fashion, but it ended at full gallop! It was a great concert with an extensive sampling of moods through dance music.
The pieces revisited during this Tuesday’s radio show will be the evocative Argentine tango, composed by Astor Piazzolla, Oblivion, the inimitable Bolero by Ravel, Danzon No. 2 by Marquez, and Copland’s irrepressibly joyful Four Dance Episodes from the ballet Rodeo.
