Brochures arriving
The new brochure for the LSO’s 2021-2022 season will start arriving in mailboxes this week! A colorful fall season is planned. Music in the Sanctuary is a concert series that includes a virtual concert in September and three live concerts that follow October thru December! A lot is happening this fall. In this time of uncertainty, it seems wise to separate the fall 2021 portion of the season from the spring 2022 part. This brochure focuses on fall 2021.
The autumn season begins with a virtual concert released to the LSO YouTube channel on Tuesday, September 28th at 7:30 PM. You may enjoy this audio visual concert free with a computer or mobile device. Access the video at any time after the release. The concert, entitled “Celebration & Surprise,” showcases a fewer number of LSO musicians compared to a normal concert. Once you listen to this virtual concert, you will be assured of the sound quality for the smaller orchestra as well as for the venue. This will be the same venue where they will perform three live concerts. Yes!, read on!
Transitioning back to the stage
Cautiously, but clearly on the road back, the LSO is performing three beautiful, scaled-down, in-person concerts to be held at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange (FUMC). One concert will be held in each of the three remaining months of 2021. The dates are: October 12th for “Reflection & Perfection”, November 9th for “Colors & Contrasts”, and December 7th for “Fanfares & Serenades.” The FUMC was chosen for a number of reasons listed in the brochure and should prove to be a fresh and fun experience.
Tickets for each of the three concerts at FUMC are $20 (general admission). You will get a discount for purchasing the three concert set. Since seating is general admission and allowances are made for social distancing, the number of tickets sold will be strictly limited. It is advised to purchase your tickets as soon as possible after the September 24th release date. September 24th is correct for ticketing, which is slightly different from the brochure. Ticketing is easily done online and convenient links will be posted on the LSO website.
The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra is transitioning back in a great way, which is cautious but certain. So, watch for this wonderful news that is coming to your mailbox! If you are not currently an LSO patron and on the LSO mail list, you can still read the brochure online. There is a link to a web version of the brochure at the bottom of this page.
Thank you for supporting the arts in LaGrange, and especially the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. Join us as we transition back toward normality with a fun and colorful fall!
