Announcement

Dr. Sinisa Ciric, DMA

The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is pleased to announce that Dr. Sinisa Ciric will be joining the LSO in their 2024/25 Season of Celebration! Dr. Ciric will fulfill the role of guest concertmaster beginning with the September 17th opening concert entitled American Fanfare. The 2024/25 season is a celebratory landmark period for Maestro Prior leading the Orchestra, and this announcement is a wonderful way to begin.

Dr. Ciric’s commitment to excellence is exemplary and we are looking forward to this new season. The role of concertmaster is critical to an orchestra. There is a line of communication from the conductor, through the concertmaster that is essential to the shaping and success of the performance. The concertmaster’s physical gestures, placement/speed of bow, and body language in relation to the character of the music, are intentionally conveyed to, and reflected by, the other musicians. The concertmaster is also responsible for technical decisions for the strings during rehearsals, occasional solos, and countless other nuances. Dr. Lorna Wood, who has been concertmaster for the LSO for many years retired at the end of the 2023/24 season.
