The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is making waves far beyond Georgia. With the recent announcement of Samuel Vargas Teixeira as the new concertmaster, the story has resonated across the globe, capturing the attention of some of the most influential platforms in the classical music world—and beyond.

Recognized by the String World’s Leading Voices

The news of the LSO’s concertmaster appointment first reached The Violin Channel. Additionally, the appointment was also featured in The Strad Magazine, widely regarded as “essential reading for the string world.” For over a century, The Strad has been the trusted voice for string players, educators, and enthusiasts. Having Samuel’s leadership recognized in its pages places the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra squarely in the international spotlight. Beyond this initial article, The Strad wants to do a full article (Spring 2026) on the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, its dedication to education, cultural influence, impact on the community, and where its headed in the future.

From Georgia to the Americas

What’s even more remarkable is how this story has reached beyond the classical music community. NTN24 (Nuestra Tele Noticias 24), a major Colombian Spanish-language international news channel, has given the announcement prominent coverage. The news became one of the top five articles in Venezuela, and ranked highly across seven other countries throughout the Americas. For a regional symphony orchestra, this level of international recognition is extraordinary.
