Inspiring the next generation. The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra offers a brilliant first step into the thrilling world of symphonic sound.

The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra will debut Dr. Richard Prior’s world premiere, Lafayette: A Hero of Two Worlds, a stirring tribute to the Marquis de Lafayette. Commissioned by the Lafayette Alliance, this season-opening performance blends history, emotion, and musical brilliance, marking a landmark moment for LaGrange.

More than a celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, this performance becomes a reflection on identity, heritage, and connection. The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Richard Prior, closes its season of Breaking Sound Barriers with the April 28 concert titled “250 Years of Being.”

LaGrange’s own history with Lafayette comes to life in music! Join us September 23, 2025, for the premiere of Dr. Richard Prior’s Lafayette: A Hero of Two Worlds, commissioned in celebration of Lafayette’s bicentennial.

Expect a thrilling concert of legendary tales, cosmic wonder, and breathtaking musical artistry. March 24: Epic Adventures, Myths and Galaxies! A concert filled with drama, legend, and symphonic power.

This video snippet is of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra (LSO) from their 4/28/2026 concert “250 Years of Being”. Under the direction of Maestro Richard Prior, this portion of the LSO’s season finale performance was of Andres Martin’s “Morgante Violin Concerto”. The piece was commissioned by Roger Arvid Anderson in memory of acclaimed conductor Michael Morgan and marked the Georgia premiere. It features Samuel Vargas Teixeira, violin for whom the piece was dedicated.
