Requesting Design Input by June 30th
The LaGrange Symphony Guild is inviting local students to help create the artwork for the upcoming 2026 My Favorite Things annual fundraising event.
Young artists are invited to share their creativity and love of music through the My Favorite Things Student Art Contest. Each year, the LaGrange Symphony Guild selects artwork to help promote its signature fundraising event. This is the third year that the inspiration comes directly from the students and young musicians the Guild supports. This is an opportunity for students to celebrate the impact of music in our lives while contributing to an event that helps provide musical opportunities for young people throughout our community.
Proceeds from My Favorite Things support the LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra, String Ensemble, private music lessons, and instruments for young musicians throughout our community. Through the generosity of volunteers, local businesses, vendors, donors, and silent auction participants, the event has supported our youth in a significant way.
Theme: Music
Create artwork that celebrates the joy of music—whether it’s music in your school, music in your daily life, student musicians, or the Children’s Orchestra.
Contest Categories
Entries will be judged in three age groups:
- Grades 3–5
- Grades 6–8
- Grades 9–12
Artwork Requirements
- Artwork should focus on music and/or student musicians.
- Accepted sizes:
- 8″ × 10″
- 9″ × 12″
- 11″ × 14″
- Artwork may be created on standard art paper or canvas.
- The artist’s name and contact information must be clearly written on the back of the artwork.

All entries must be accompanied by a completed release form. Winning artwork may be used in promotional and marketing materials for the event.
