The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday Tuesday September 25th, 2018 in their season opening concert. This musical event, appropriately named The Beginning marks the start of the LSO’s 29th year.
Along with a performance of Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, the LSO will perform Mozart’s Oboe Concerto, featuring Alexandra Shatalov Prior, LSO Oboe Principal, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, one of Bernstein’s favorites. Concert begins at 7:30PM at Callaway Auditorium in LaGrange, Georgia. All concert attendees are invited to a reception to be held immediately following the concert at the LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce. Happy 100th birthday!
