LSYO Concert – a wonderful success!

Tuesday night, November 13th, marked the annual fall concert of the LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra (LSYO).  The concert was dedicated to the memory of Judy Boggus and Betti Martin.  Before the concert, Raylene Carter, Executive Director of the LSO had lovely comments about the importance of these two ladies and how much they contributed to the success of the youth program.  Both Judy and Betti were represented in the audience by a large number of family and friends.  Their memory will live on in the young musicians onstage and those who will join the LSYO in the future.  Their commitment to the LSYO will always be fondly remembered.

It was a fun and impressive concert full of many different styles of music, all done with precision.  The musicians were very professional and a joy to watch. The youth program has really grown and the students filled the stage.  Four groups were showcased: the LSYO, the LSYO String Ensemble, Strings Attached Musicians, and String Sprouts. They played separately and together. The organization of such a large number of performers was also something to appreciate.  This was a huge successful concert earning a standing ovation!  Great job! to everyone involved in making this concert such a memorable event.
