LaGrange Symphony Youth Orchestra Side-by-Side
Celeste Myall

Celeste Myall, LSYO director

In addition to the annual highlight of our side-by-side with the remarkable young musicians of the LYSO, the LSO is thrilled to present the winners of the 2019 and 2020 Young Artist Competitions. Yes, two winning artists will dazzle you with their talents as we feature music’s unique ability to step up from the background and be the storyteller.

Connor Holland, 2019 First place YAC winner and recipient of the Dorothy Allen Turner Award

Connor Holland is the 2019 winner of the YAC for wind instruments.  The 2020 competition for young artists is for strings, and it takes place in February of 2020, so the second guest artist for this concert will be determined then.

Everyone loves a charming family-friendly story, and this one was written in 1936 by one of the greatest twentieth century composers.  Our evening continues with the great tale of Peter and the Wolf as set by Prokofiev! A wonderful opportunity to hear many of our LSO musicians featured as soloists playing the different characters in the story!  This symphonic tale is a great time for parents and grandparents to introduce their children and grandchildren to live classical, orchestral music.  Share your passion for music, it may open up a whole new world.
